Celebrating a milestone
Ah, breastfeeding. It's been a few years, but it feels like yesterday to me. How I wish I had photographs to remember and to show my girls someday. The days, the nights, the cluster feeding, the bites and pulls and those eyes looking up at me. The little "pop" when they fall asleep and unlatch. It was a wonderful, painful, magical, precious time.
It was an absolute joy to celebrate baby C in her 1/2 birthday tiara, and celebrate her mama reaching that beautiful milestone of six months breastfeeding. Nothing about motherhood is easy, and feeding our babies is no exception. Let's celebrate at every opportunity.

The most important part of having your breastfeeding journey photographed is comfort. Show all the skin, or stay covered, it's entirely up to mom. Beautiful images result either way. You can know that I've been there too. The focus is on your baby, and the closeness you share. We will make something to treasure well after those breastfeeding days are done, whether that's soon after birth or into the toddler years.

I sure didn't get the birth I wanted, but somehow my girls took to breastfeeding immediately and easily. I know how lucky that was for us. Pumping, on the other hand, was a *constant* struggle, and I worked so super hard for every single ounce after I went back to work. I didn't think it would work out and was sure we would be switching to formula. That I went back part-time is the only reason I was able to pump enough to cover the times I was away.
I love that at the end of this session, mama asked for bottle feeding to be included as well. Of course! Feeding your baby is feeding your baby. The closeness is there, the nourishment is there, and isn't that what really matters for us moms and for our babies? Seems a whole lot like breastfeeding to me.

This right here is worth celebrating, worth documenting, worth remembering.
You, mama, are doing absolutely incredible work.
